IDA

Ida by Gertrude Stein: (from back cover) “This is the story of Ida, whose life consists mainly of resting, because she is always tired; of talking to herself; and of getting married, time after time.” Her most accessible book that is not Three Lives. Very tender and sweet, an ode to restlessness and idleness and daydreamers of every stripe.

First Sentence:
“There was a baby born named Ida.”
