If you are waiting for Allah to grant you knowledge and wealth, He is telling you to do it yourself. Anything that you can do yourself, that you have the power and the mental and physical capacity to attain on your own, should not be sought of Allah, for he will not answer your wishes. Rather he will open many doors for you, and it is your job to strive to achieve your goals.
Laziness doesn't solve problems. In fact, laziness is loss of hope because you do not want to put the time and effort to succeed. Next time you think Allah didn't answer your prayers, know that you did not answer your own needs and desires. Remember, laziness is a disease, and if you loose hope in Allah because you are too lazy to succeed, by all means you are wasting your time. Only pray to Allah for things you have no power to change.
