First Love by Ivan Turgenev: A 60 page novel is about a 16 year old boy who falls deeply in love with a beautiful 21 year old named Zinadia—an intelligent but arrogant girl who is constantly surrounded by a coterie of love-struck suitors. His desire for her grows until it is all he thinks about—mixed with all the jelousy, guilt, ideation, swooning, and heartbreak which usually accompanies one's first love.
We entered the room...but I couldn't pay attention to anything around me—I moved as if in a dream, and felt all through my being a sort of intense blissfulness that verged on imbecility.
