On a more sombre note, I really don’t know what’s happening with the world lately. You only have to lift up your heard up from a book and look outside your window to see that all have run amuck. For weeks and weeks Japan, Indonesia, Australia, etc have been hit by earthquakes and everywhere you look there are uprisings.In the first week of April, Swaziland, just 4 hours away from me had a mini uprising that was quickly squashed by the monarchy and supporters but not before we saw that not all is as reported to be in this “fair kingdom”. We are being fed lies while people are oppressed.
Just today our local stations have reported on nothing but the news of how Anton Hammerl (a photo-journalist) was killed 6 weeks ago by Gaddaffi loyalists. The whole while Gaddaffi and sons kept telling lies to the SA and Austrian government saying he was alive and well. I can’t just imagine what this man’s family is through after having been given hope of his return for so long. My deepest condolences to the Hammerl family and to the world of journalism. A hero has been slain, not many of us would venture into war torn places and bring to light the plight of those suffering under tyrannical rule. He did.
And for that, I solute him, getting rid of monstrous entities like Gaddaffi is all the world can now do to make sure his death and those of thousands of others, were not in vain.
