Christmas and Its Significance

Now Christmas has been so popular through out the world and now most of the countries celebrate it with Great Spirit and enthusiasm. It is a long holiday covering both Christmas and New Year at the end of the year. People celebrate Christmas with Christmas trees, Christmas carols, anta Claus, Christmas Crib, Magi, Stockings, Candy Cane, Christmas greetings cards, Reindeer, Poinsettia, Mistletoe, Christmas quotes and Christmas shopping.

Christmas is generally celebrated on 25th December to commemorate the birth day of Jesus, the centre figure of Christianity. Christmas is derived from the term “Christ-mass”. But it is also know as X-mas celebration and it is the abbreviation of Christmas as X (Chi) connotes the first word of Christmas in Greek. Christmas is generally celebrated on the birth day of Jesus but there is no sufficient and strong evidence regarding his birthday. Christmas is generally a festival of love, peace and sharing but now-a-days people are giving more priority on its celebration, and therefore selling gifts and household are now getting more important than spirituality.
