All day he kept Hawaii in mind. He murmured its name in his thoughts. His brain thundered with surf and water. When he was in an important business meeting, he was thinking about Hawaii. When he was humping his wife, he was thinking about Hawaii. Football made him think of Hawaii. Pretty much everything made him think of Hawaii, and how much he longed to go there.
He was learning how the mind could project. Where others saw street lights, he saw palm trees. Where others saw concrete, he saw alabaster sands. He walked around the city all day, longing to take his shoes off.
When he was calling clients, he was thinking about Hawaii.
The mountains, the green trees, the beaches, the women, the food. The lifestyle. Surfing all day, drinking all night. Clubs. Tourists. Motorcycles. Flowers. Bikinis. The good life. Don’t let the haters keep you down. You have to stay positive! You’re going to get there! Hawaii! Just a short plane trip away! Everything could change. Everything will change. Hawaii is the place. Speak its name when you are lonely.
