The reality is that we all buy into this concept, this is what we all desire out of our marital relationships. We expect the other party to make us live happily ever after. But the ultimate reality is that we should strive for Happily Ever Hereafter!
There is no such thing as romance before marriage. That concept simply does not exist in islam. In fact it is this very behaviour which has a very negative impact on marriage, this deprives the marital relationship of the mercy and barakah (blessings) of Allah. Superficial and false means of succumbing to our base desire. Yes Allah has created human to love, however True-Love is the love Allah puts in the hearts of a man and women through the bonds of Nikaah.
