Islam is not about rules, it's about a relationship. It becomes a set of rules when you don't understand why you do what you do, and do it only to do it. Without knowing the real means behind your actions.
In a relationship, you do what's asked of you because you love who you're doing it for. You understand that what you do helps you. It's not about doing something just to do it, it's about doing something because you love doing it. If you don't love what you do, it becomes robotic. It becomes rules, and you become defiant.
